Accelerator Program Focuses on Cleantech, GCIP Cambodia, Launches Their Cohort 3 Opening Ceremony
The Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) Cambodia has launched its 3rd cohort with the official ceremony of the Accelerator Program, held on 10th October 2025. The ceremony was presided over by Ms. Sou Jolyda, Managing Director of Prestige Consulting, Mr. Kevin Braithwaite, the Vice President of Network for Global Innovation (NGIN), and H.E. Dr. Taing Nguonly, Executive Director of Techo Startup Center.
A total of 11 groups have been admitted into the GCIP Cambodia Cohort 3 program. The team consists of 9 semi-finalists who have been selected through stages of a rigorous selection process out of the total of 41 applicants who have applied to the program and 2 additional groups advanced from the Pre-Accelerator program, which has wrapped up on 26th September, 2025.
The launch ceremony conducted at this time also marks the beginning of the first day of the 4-day intensive training called National Academy, which the 11 groups who have successfully been admitted to the program will be going through. During the first day of the training, the teams were briefed on the activities and timeline, and the expectations from the program, as well as the businesses themselves, during the program.
The 11 businesses selected will be set to go through an intensive four-month training with specific deliverables and a sequential validation framework identified as the GCIP 20 Business Elements, integrated into four key activities, including 1) National Academy, 2) Global Training Webinars, 3) Mentoring, and 4) Business Clinic. The activities conducted during the program will enable the candidates to systematically validate the assumptions on their product, market, customers, and business model, intended to reduce the time taken to produce a pitch deck that would secure customers and convince partners.
Besides the intensive capacity building via training, mentoring, and expert advisory, the businesses will be competing in the Semi-Final and Final for the chance to win an equity-free grant totaling USD 50,000.
The key mission of GCIP Cambodia Accelerator Program Cohort 3 has been consistent from the first cohort implementation until the third implementation which aims to (1) identify, support, and celebrate entrepreneurs with innovative solutions to addressing the most pressing energy, environmental, and social challenges faced nationally and globally, (2) enable the participating entrepreneurs to successfully de-risk and scale their ventures, and (3) enhance the capacity of local stakeholders to successfully support innovation and entrepreneurship activities, especially the long-term growth of local cleantech ventures.
